Reflections on using ICT in the classroom

The ICT4ELC course has introduced me to many tools I had not considered using and given me ideas for using them.
I already use Kahoot in the classroom as a fun way to end a lesson and test students on some grammar.
I think some of the new quiz tools I have investigated are great for students to use either at home or in computer time to test themselves. These may be more effective for revision than Kahoot in that students have more time to reflect on their errors and learn from them.

I have also really enjoyed using blogger and learning how to embed. I feel a whole world has opened up to me and I am thinking up ideas for how this could be used with my advanced students. Perhaps embedding video links and having them comment or better still having them embed their own vocaroo.

I'd like to investigate wikis in a little more depth in the future. I'd also like to try a chatroom like todaysmeet, although my students already have a lot of contact hours. I am not sure how they'd feel about trying to schedule more outside class time. I think setting up a Facebook group may be more useful and this is something I have been considering for a while so I think I will give it ago with my new students who start next week.

Other tools I am going to use are photo peach - which I love for its simplicity - survey monkey and Learning Apps. These tools are all quick, easy and straight forward to use which is very important for me.

I have gained a lot from this course and although I haven't had time to fully explore all the ideas and tools that have been included I intend to try out more over the coming weeks.

My first photo peach

Ok so I have created photo peach and am going to attempt to embed it here. this is not something I have done before and this is also my first attempt at blogging so I am learning a great deal this week. I was surprised by how easy photo peach was to use.  I could use this one as an introduction to my International students and for teaching adjectives.
